Pennsylvania Supreme Court case

Posted on : July 29, 2016, By:  Michael Aitken

In a very recent Pennsylvania Supreme Court decision, the Court dealt a tough blow to counsel representing mortgage lenders. In Glover v. Udren Law Offices, P.C., 2016 Pa. LEXIS 1255 (Pa. 2016), the Court was presented with the question of whether a law firm representing a bank could be held liable under the Pennsylvania Loan Interest Law for excess fees that it charged in connection with a loan. The Court resoundingly held that a viable cause of action could be lodged, and that treble damages may be awarded, if excess fees have been proven.

This is a monumentally important case for home owners. If you are struggling to pay your mortgage, you want to meet with a foreclosure defense attorney who can help you.
